about

This was the first J G Harding EP that was originally sold via the MySpace page. It collected some demos and newer recordings together in quite a random way, but hey, that's part of the charm!

The cover art is from a poster painted by Egon Schiele, a portrait of the artist as St. Sebastian. The text is adapted from the original typography of the poster.

about

JG Harding London, UK

JG Harding's solo work began in 2005, and picked up after he stopped making rave-rock as Neogear. He quickly developed a sound somewhere between Thom Yorke, Jeff Buckley and Paul Simon, with trademark falsetto and heartfelt melodies. This project peaked in about 2010 with the release of The Last Show On Earth, his debut album. He currently plays music as part of two-piece band Bro. ... more

Track Name: Still Waiting (2006 demo)
Still Waiting by J G Harding

Capo 3rd

What are we going to do?
Stripping the colour from life as we bleach our bones,
Anticipating heart attacks.
What are we going to do?
Dragging ourselves into debt as we build our homes,
Well never get the money back.

Oh, life, where did you go wrong?
I’m singin,
Oh life,
Where’s my happy song?
I’ve waited so long.

I am going to the east,
Mile by mile it’s nearer my reach,
And the world is heading west,
Dollar for dollar it’s all for the best.

Where are we going today?
Wherever I go if I’m moving im standing still,
Theres never time for turning back.
What is there still left to say?
No sooner the words leave your mouth,
Than the meanings changed,
And ink just makes your paper black.

Oh, life, where did you go wrong?
I’m singin,
Oh life,
Where’s my happy song?
I’ve waited so long.

I am going to the east,
Mile by mile it’s nearer my reach,
And the world is heading west,
Dollar for dollar it’s all for the best.

It’s difficult to not lose hope,
When I’m left waiting here,
It’s difficult to not lose hope,
But I’m still waiting here.
It’s difficult to not lose hope,
When I’m left waiting here,
It’s difficult to not lose hope,
But I’m still waiting here.
